Client's sales team meets company's existing and new clients on a regular basis. For those meetings, sales representatives want to take with them financial data in the form of Power Point presentations to show how this particular client is doing in terms of returns, asset diversification, etc.
In addition, client creates financial reports to their customers on a regular basis (monthly, quarterly, yearly). These reports need to be custom generated for each customer based on customer's financial portfolio. Multilanguage support and personal data encryption was expected along with the need for a secure and highly scalable system.
Client's sales representatives used to spend several hours putting together presentations for clients after manually pulling their customer's data from legacy systems. |

After reviewing client's needs, we decided to build one system that provides two views of the financial data. The system was built in a very modular fashion allowing software components to be fit together as needed. For example, a set of modules provided final view to the data that are dynamically chosen based on whether a Power Point view or PDF report is needed. Our component based development also allowed us to present client data in multiple languages like English, German, etc.
We built this system on a J2EE platform using Java, J2EE, EJB, XML, XSLT, iText, Microsoft Power Point DLLs and Sybase. |
